Religious Education

At St Benedict’s, Religious Education is at the centre of both the formal and informal Catholic school curriculum. We invite and support our students to live their faith through developing a deepened relationship with God and to form loving relationships with others. Our school community is part of the wider Burwood Parish where we work in partnership with the Missionaries of God’s Love to spread the good news.

As a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Melbourne we use the text ‘Coming To Know, Worship and Love’ as a framework for our Religious Education program. The students develop an awareness of the presence of God through prayer, liturgy and Gospel stories.

As a whole school we celebrate our patron saint, St Benedict’s Feast Day and other special days such as Mother's Day, Father's Day and the Feast of the Sacred Heart. One class per week attends the weekly Wednesday morning parish mass.
